IGI Series

Project IGI was first released in North America as Project IGI 1: I’m Going In. It’s a strategic first-person shooter video game developed by Innerloop Studios and published by Eidos Interactive. Project IGI 1 was released in December 2000 and upon its entry, the game received plenty of mixed reactions and reviews.

While had been praised for its sound design and stunning graphics, it also had quite a number of shortcomings such as a lack of save option during mid-game, and lack of multiplayer features.

Project IGI 1 was closely followed up in 2003 by IGI 2: Covert Strike. These two games are fascinating ones for gamers who particularly enjoy FPS PC games. Now, after over 15 years of waiting, a prequel titled Project IGI 3: Origins, was announced by publisher Toadman Interactive in 2019.

Toadman Interactive is collaborating with one of its subsidiary developers — Artplant, on this one, and a bit like its predecessors, IGI 3 has been confirmed to be a tactical stealth first-person shooter.

This particular entry is taken into account as a prequel why because it would explore the origin of the IGI organization hence its title, Origins.

The last year 2020, was speculated to be the release date of IGI 3 but following some issues regarding the improvement and development of the game, the release date was then shifted up to 2023.

IGI 3 For Gaming Consoles

While details on the game and its actual gameplay remain scarce, IGI 3 is sure to be available on most gaming consoles including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Since we do not have the case of a release in several years from now on our hands (as IGI 3 is set to be released this year), the game is being developed to support game consoles that are currently available, not necessarily next-gen ones. IGI 3 Rumors

There are lots of IGI 3 Rumors coming nowadays. Following one of the shortcomings of the first game in the series, IGI 1: I’m Going In, IGI 3 is also set to be a single-player game so the lack of multiplayer features would also be seen in this prequel.

On the flip side, if you are a fan of the first two games in the series, it might delight you to know that the Toadman Interactive development team has one of the original creators of the franchise working with them, but more regarding this would be disclosed in the future.
