You all must have got your favorite heroes in Overwatch and some of them can sometimes appear a bit more powerful than others. The January tier list is here beginning with Ashe in the S Tier and ending with Sombra being a not-so-useful hero in D Tier and we only expect the game’s tuning to get tighter over time.

Tier lists are famous in hero-shooter titles such as Overwatch and Paladins, and fighting games such as the Street Fighter and Super Smash Bros. series, in addition to MOBA titles such as League of Legends and Dota 2. The Overwatch tier list is the list of playable characters, individually ranked by their respective ability to work successfully in high-level competitive settings.

Characters that are being listed high on the tier list of the game are considered to be more powerful characters as compared to lower-scoring characters and are therefore more likely to be selected during fights and tournaments. Tier rankings may be listed using numerical or letter gradings.

When a competitive game gets an update, a question that arises is how the changes in the game will affect the tier list. In fighting games, the strength of a character is always held relative to that of other characters, meaning that something that is strong in one fighting game does not necessarily have to be strong in another.

We always try our best to represent the meta but we would suggest to do not taking this Overwatch tier list as absolute or definitive. Even if some heroes may not top this list, they are still capable of being extremely strong in the right situation.

The Overwatch DPS tier list is always evolving but we always try to keep up with the changes and latest updates. So with that, the DPS tier list of the best and worst heroes is here.

S Tier

  • Ashe
  • Echo
  • McCree

Echo has been ruling tier lists since she was released. Ashe and McCree too are usually located in the upper tiers because of their all-around excellence. All three are powerful and have a good range of abilities to survive in most situations.

A Tier

  • Torbjorn
  • Tracer
  • Widowmaker

A Tier has three excellent choices that are just slightly below S Tier but that does not make them weak. Torbjorn and Tracer are good in completely different ways than S Tier heroes. Whereas, Widowmaker is just too much of a specialist to make it into S Tier.

B Tier

  • Genji
  • Hanzo
  • Soldier 76
  • Pharah

B Tier heroes are slightly more powered than C Tier but not as solid as A Tier. All four heroes are fair choices in the hands of skilled players. But in the modern meta, they are not at the top of the charts.

C Tier

  • Doomfist
  • Mei
  • Reaper
  • Symmetra

C Tier is full of situational heroes that are useful, but not all the time. All four of these heroes can be very effective on particular maps and to counter specific enemies, but should not be picked in every fight.

D Tier

  • Bastion
  • Junkrat
  • Sombra

Jeff Kaplan has yet to succeed in his giant “Bastion in every game” aim. D Tier heroes are capable of performing great skills, but only while playing with a coordinated squad, which won’t be found in random fights.

The greatest change is the massive buffs to Genji. His damage has been improved obliquely, now that his shurikens are closer together. With more extra shurikens likely to hit the target, Genji can form Dragon Blades much faster.
