Recently Epic Games in the ongoing war with Steam announced that Dota 3 will launch exclusively on the Epic Games Store this year. Fans were extremely excited after knowing that Valve would finally be starting the third game in any given series. However, the excitement quickly changed into a huge confusion when the game disappeared from the Steam store and reappeared on its competitor.

Valve’s Dota 2 released three years ago on 9 July 2013 and now we are waiting eagerly for the next installment to come out. However, it seems that Dota 3 release date is not going to be announced anytime soon since there is certainly no remark whatsoever of Dota 3 by anyone from the developing team. But there are some rumors saying Dota 3 will announce in 2021, but unfortunately, it’s not an official statement.

In April 2020, epic games announced that Dota 3 developers are going to place the game in the epic games store. This means this official statement from epic games cleared that game is in development and will release anytime soon.
Valve’s co-founder Gabe Newell savagely held a press release, citing the Dota 3 developers of “taking his pre-order money” when they “were quietly negotiating an exclusivity arrangement behind the scenes”. “We need to put an end to these kinds of exclusives,” said Newell. “It’s not good for the industry. What is good for the industry is releasing every game on Steam, constantly, until the end of time especially our games, he added”.
“I recognize that it may not be convenient for some people to install an extra launcher,” a Dota 3 network engineer said, “but it turns out that it’s quite convenient for me to have the extra cash.”

Also, at the press, an individual took advantage of Steam Direct and a game in the Steam store called “Real Dota 3” which was some bitcoin miner and ransomware hack, however, Valve is already considering banning depending on how well it performs.
