The Like a Dragon 8 game is an open world that focuses on the port district of Isezaki Ijincho, Yokohama, a fictionalized Isezakicho, YokohamaWP; the red-light district of Kamurocho, Tokyo, which is a fictionalized Kabukicho, TokyoWP; and the entertainment district Sotenbori, which is a fictionalized Dotonbori, OsakaWP.

There is also an unannounced new location, a new protagonist, and new events that will be seen in the coming game. The suspense is thrilling; we can’t say anything about it until the final dragons come into the picture.

On September 14, 2022, the Like a Dragon 8 game trailer was officially released. The trailer featured a montage of long-running dual protagonists Kiryu Kazuma and Like A Dragon’s Ichiban Kasuga, who replaced Kiryu in the seventh episode of the series alongside a new supporting cast.

The trailer begins on the streets of Kamurocho, with Ichiban’s recognizable form walking toward the camera. In the story, due to the many voices, the translation only attempts to parse most of the discourse. However, Adachi, Nanba, Saeko, and (we believe) Joon-gi and Zhao can be heard, though it is difficult to confirm.

While the teaser trailer doesn’t reveal much, it does show the return of Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu. Based on the clip, in the story, both beloved characters will work together in the eighth game.
